Construction imageDC Builders & Sons is a family business in every sense of the word. At the heart of the company are the Chance family, based in Coventry. Mother, father, three sons, brother and nephew work together to build and maintain a stellar reputation for commercial building services across the country.

Dave Chance established DC Builders over 20 years ago as a sole trader, having been in the building trade since leaving school. The rest of the family joined throughout the years and in 2001, the business became a limited company. It now operates with up to 75 sub-contractors a week, providing ground works, demolition, refurbishment and specialist concrete cutting and breaking for commercial properties, sites and high-rise buildings throughout the UK.

Dave is now Foreman and Contracts Manager but retains a practical, hands-on role with every contract. DC Builders & Sons firmly believe that every contract benefits from a foreman who knows every aspect of the job from the ground up. That’s why you will never see Dave in a suit – he will be overseeing the work while digging, building and demolishing.


Working with HCT Construction Consultants Ltd

In March 2005, DC Builders had the foresight to make the management decision to outsource the commercial management of their business allowing them to concentrate on what they know best, building.

They chose to employ the services of HCT Construction Consultants Ltd to carry out the commercial management and offer health and safety advice on live projects.

HCT Construction Consultants are chartered surveyors, based in Coleshill, Warwickshire, who specialise in quantity surveying, project management, party wall surveying, CDM co-ordination and dispute resolution and work with DC Builders on all their projects throughout the UK.

HCT Construction Consultants have built a strong working relationship with DC Builders. Clients have the confidence that not only can DC Builders produce the quality on site they also have the backing of professionally qualified quantity surveyors and construction managers that can assist with all the contract administration, which is where many builders fail.

HCT Construction Consultant’s services include pricing, agreeing contracts, carrying out valuations, pricing variations, agreeing final accounts, producing method statements and risk assessments, carrying out site visits to assess safety and programming.

With the assistance of HCT Construction Consultants DC Builders are able to offer a full professional building service.
